Sketch Book Full Colors Review

I must say as I am catching up on my anime this show has been one of the most boring and un-interesting series I have ever seen. It is slow, unimpressive and simply pointless. The main character (if you can call her that.) is boring and unimaginative. She wander around on her mission to find stuff to draw. The other characters in the story are just a collection of the many stereotypes that you find in most anime. There are a few side stories but mostly its just about her interaction and observation of the world, and people around her.

Not very interesting at all.

If this was one you wanted to check out don't waste your time pass this one up. Unless you need something to put you to sleep.

Whew! Been super busy with RL stuff

Well its been a while since I was able to post due to real life stuff going on. But I should be back in full force come the new year as things settle down. I have been traveling a lot so I am very behind on my anime watching.

A lot of the shows are promising and a guilty pleasure I have is Shugo Chara. It a fun story about a girl who has many personalities that she shows to different people and worries about her real self as she is wondering she suddenly finds she has 3 eggs. Which is actually very funny since she thinks she laid them initially. The show has many fun moments like that where you just have to giggle. Anyways these eggs hatch to reveal the Charas which are guardians of her true self. They give her abilities and powers to fight the X eggs and to find the embryo that is said to grant your wish.

Its a really guilty pleasure but I just love the show it really is fun to watch.

Today's Listing of New Daily Anime Releases

Today's listing of new releases is rather small which is typical of Friday releases.

I have been watching some of the newer shows with dragonaut - the resonance - quickly becoming on of my favorite new shows. The premise of being able to ride a dragon and fight with it is a great childhood dream and its awesome to see that represented in anime form. The production quality is great the action is fast paced and exciting and so far the characters are genuine and interesting.

The group infinite-zero has been subbing this along with favorites shinsen-subs however infinite seems to be getting the episodes out quicker and so far has top notch quality. But if your a fan of shinsen then you might as well wait since they don't seem to be to far behind.

If your not watching this I recommend picking it up.

One of the more controversial new comedies out "Kodomo no Jikan" is a very loli series with some great humor. But be warned this show has a lot of sexual overtones and blatant sexual content some of which gets censored its so blatant. This show pokes fun at the loli community while also giving them lots of fan service. So you have been warned if you despise loli stay away. If you don't really care and just enjoy a good laugh and giggle at some poor teachers expense you will get a kick out of how these girls taunt and tease their new teacher.

Daily anime listings maybe returning

With this new season of anime starting... I am thinking of starting listing the new series links as they are made available.

It's not a ton of work to do this. I usually try to keep it current through out the day, but with so many other sites out there where you can also get these I am wondering if anyone actually wants them.

I personally use;
Anime-source.com
But I also have bookmarks for all the major fansub groups and check their site daily for release info. But Anime-source seems to be pretty good about getting the new releases listed quickly and effectively. Although not always... They are probably the best so far.

So if you want me to bring them back let me know.

Also I usually don't post pictures of the series I am reviewing but I know some people have asked for me to start listing pictures. This takes a little more time and effort since I am more of a csual blogger but lets be honest seeing a picture of a series that looks interesting sometimes is more valuable than in determining if you think a show is worth watching... So if a show looks interesting enough I will definitely start posting pictures.

Great new season starting

Well we are starting to see some great new series appearing. And so far I haven't seen any that look boring or blah... I have watched;

Myself; Yourself
Sana Hikada returns to his hometown after 5 years away living in Tokyo. Although there are some changes to the town, most has remained the same. On a detour to his apartments, he notices a girl in a shrine maiden outfit watching him when he visits the shrine. He finds out, the next day at school, that this girl is actually Nanaka Yatsushiro, his old childhood friend whom he gave a bracelet to before he left, that she still wears, even to this day.

Kaiji
A down on his luck loser who loves to gamble and runs a life of misery is given a chance by the mafia to pay off all his debts by boarding a mysterious cruise ship where he must win a series of gambling contests with lots at stake and many other losers trying to win their freedom can he climb to the top and beat them all for the prize and fortune.

Dragonaut - The Resonance
In order to avoid Earth's impending destruction from an asteroid, the International Solarsystem Development Agency (ISDA) works on the "D-Project", and creates the "Dragonaut" after finding a dragon egg under the ocean. However, they soon find out that the asteroid is not their only threat, as powerful dragon-like creatures appear on Earth. After witnessing a murder by one of the creatures, Jin Kamishina gets involved in the mysteries of the dragons and becomes the chosen pilot of the Dragonaut. Helping him on his journey is Toa, a mysterious girl who saves him from falling to his death after the creature attacks him. As they get deeper into the mysteries of the dragons, they encounter new friends and enemies, and also begin to develop a closer relationship.

Da Capo II
The protagonist, Yoshiyuki Sakurai, was born when Sakura Yoshino, weary of being alone for so long, wished upon a prototype artificial wish-granting magical sakura tree for a family. Similar to its predecessor, the story takes place on the same island, Hatsunejima, in Japan, and set fifty-three years after the original anime. The Asakura sisters are the granddaughters of Junichi Asakura and Nemu Asakura from the first Da Capo. Sakura Yoshino and Junichi are the only returning characters, and Nemu is the only other character to be mentioned by name.

Clannad
Tomoya Okazaki is a third year student labelled as a delinquent. Everything seems to be unchanging for his school life until he meets Nagisa, and Tomoya finds that his life is about to change. He starts to have dreams of a bleak world and meets a girl who has the ability to fuse junk together in order to create things, and doing so, creates a body out of junk for him. He is then reborn into this empty world and follows around the girl, the only two existences who are "alive."

You're Under Arrest: Full Throttle
I team of traffic police women face danger and obstacles in a futuristic Tokyo where they must uphold the rules of the road and find trouble wherever it may be. The two main characters are a pair of women partners one a butch muscle woman who loves to fight the other a savvy, smart, by the book (sorta) woman.

Blue Drop
Not quite sure what this one is about. The first episode is kind of vague but it looks to have aliens sci-fi and super powerful ships. The main character is a whiny little girl who lost everything and is sent to live at a school for nobles by her grandma who is no longer able to care for her. She meets some strange people including a girl who upon first meeting her tries to strangle her after some strange power awakens.

Shakugan no Shana Second
no need to explain if you have seen the first series this one picks up right where the last one left off I mean literally right off. They start the new semester after the break and already find themselves battling new enemies and some old ones as well.

Night Wizard
A strange tale about a world where demons are about to invade earth and the only stopping them is a band of people who can use magical weapons as no modern weaponry has any effect on them. Part sci-fi part fantasy. Our hero's include a bad ass giant sword wielding guy who just wants to go to school. A unique shrine maiden who ropes in the new girl who transferred in to join her club only to find out she too has a magical weapon. But was unaware of it until one night her powers awaken before her 17th birthday.

Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun
Shungo is a normal high school student living in a huge house. One day, his sister Ryoko sends Mayu and Mikihiro Tsukimura, two siblings, to live with him to help Mayu overcome her problem. Mayu's problem: she is a succubus who absorbs the power of men (however our hero does not seem to be affected by this.) but she is androphobic (Afraid of men) , and Ryoko wants Shungo to help her overcome. How By making Mayu and Shungo share the same room, bed, and even take baths together. To make things even worse, Reika Hojo, the student-council chair, ends up becoming their maid.

Rental Magica
Due to his father's disappearance, Itsuki Iba has to take over the family business: a magician dispatch service. Their family basically employs countless magicians and other supernatural beings in order to send them out to help those who need magical assistance. As a leader, Itsuki now has to be tough, commanding, and reliable, but there's one problem, he's a coward. Also, in order to run a successful business, he has to connect with his employees, which is more difficult than it seems due to his personality. But not only does he have to deal with his own employees, he also has to deal with those who threaten the family business.

Mokke
Shizuru is a high school student who is able to see ghosts while her younger sister, Mizuki, is haunted by these apparitions. Frustrated by their abilities, their parents decided to entrust the sisters into the care of their grandparents who live in the countryside. As they adapt to life in the countryside, Shizuru and Mizuki begin to learn about the importance of coexisting nature with these apparitions.

I will review these series in more detail as more of the episodes are released as well as keep you updated on any other new series that come out.

School days final episode... WTF!!!

Ok, I usually don't put spoilers in but this show just has to be talked about. So if you haven't been watching and read my other post makoto is a real prick who sleeps around with anything that moves and for some strange reason the girls are a bunch of sluts who will put out for anyone.

Now the series goes something like this... he likes a girl on a train, and the girl who sits next to him in class helps him get the girl from the train... he then cheats on the first girl with the girl sitting next to him. But wont tell the first girl, then another girl wants him and another then three at once. Of course they all end up getting jealous and crazy... and well... He gets what he deserves... but damn if it isn't the most twisted ending in the history of anime. My god I almost blew chunks its so completely twisted.

If you can stomach the rest of this series just for the ending do it... Its twisted enough it just has to be seen. I take no credit for messing you up for the rest of your life and in no way bear responsibility for that nagging sickness in your stomach at the ending credits. But you have to see this to understand what I am talking about.

If your are weak and don't like twisted stuff never ever watch this series and the final episode. never ever it is seriously that messed up.

Claymore . 26 Final Released

Claymore is by far the best series I have watched in a long long time. It had great animation quality but that's only the icing on this cake. The plot line and writing are top notch. They make you really love the characters. You feel every agonizing cut and bruise. It hard to watch characters you love be beaten and this series is not one to shy away from killing off one of your beloved characters right after making you fall in love with them. While the gore is extensive and not for the feint of heart it adds realism and shock to scenes that are already tense and exciting. I found myself shouting at the show yelling "c'mon get it. Don't give up!" and "Nooooooo! Why the hell did she have to die!" I was emotionally invested in every episode and each character.

This show goes in the #1 spot for anime of the year for this viewer/reviewer. It looks as though they ended it with the possibility for a second season. I will pray the anime gods for this shows return. There are many things left undone and more to explore. My hope is that this show has just gotten started and will continue for a long run.

Now I just need to find something else to sate my appetite until next season... Lets hope the new batch coming out has some hidden gems like this series.

Toward the Terra and Kaze No Stigma final episodes released

Well it is time to say good bye to Toward the Terra it was a long and bumpy road but its finally over. While the ending stays with the theme of the series. It is sort of disappointing. If your watching this hoping for a fairy tale happy ending stop now your better off not watching it. Without spoiling I can say no more.

But needless to say this show has been an interesting one to follow with weird mysteries and plot lines that left many questions unanswered. Over all a quality show and very entertaining. But in my opinion the ending just didn't do it justice.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your like or dislike of the series) it doesn't look like there will be a sequel for this series but... you never know.

As for Kaze No Stigma it was a great ending with as much flare and dramatics and fun as you come to expect from the series and it looks to nicely setup a second run of the series. (fingers crossed.) This show had many great elements with rivalries, love triangles and comedy galore. It could make you laugh and then later cry. There were many touching moments through out this run and I am looking forward to the next season. There are lots of places this series can take us and I plan to stay on this ride until the end.

Devil May Cry and Zombie Loan final episodes released

Well a few more series have come to an end. Zombie Loan which had the potential for being a promising series seemed to end quite abruptly. I am hoping its plans to return since it left a lot of unanswered questions but I will keep my ear the ground. All in all the final few episodes were rather nice and would have hoped it continued along those tracks if it returns.

Devil May Cry ended also which intrigued me as well since the series never really got much into any kind of plot it was like a bunch of filler episodes then a two episode arc for the finale. Kind of disappointed in how it ended very lack luster and kind of lame. But the art work for the series was absolutely gorgeous and I would expect no less from a franchise like that. Not sure if it will come back for another season. I doubt it but you never know.

A couple of other series are winding down El Cazadore de la bruja is winding down and has been a fun series to watch if just a little odd. I hope they end it nicely. There is a lot of potential and the characters are very well defined so they should have no excuse for a crappy unemotional ending.

Fan subbing has slowed down a bit over the summer with many subbers I am sure taking long vacations. Some of the bigger subbing groups have maintained a steady pace with releases while others have been hung up for months I am looking forward to start seeing some of those groups catch up and finish off some of the summer series.

If you haven't been watching Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! you should start. The series had some great story arc's recently after a bevy of filler crap we now start to get into the story of the battle for the position of successor. It is great! I can't wait for each release and Shinsen-subs has been cranking them out pretty quickly recently so get caught up if you haven't been watching I am sure you wont be disappointed.

Reideen goes out with a pop instead of a bang

The final episode of Reideen has aired and been subbed. But I must say it was very anti-climactic. I watched it and thought well thats it? Thats all? I was very very disappointed with the ending. It felt rushed and forced not sure what happened on the publishers end but I hope that wasn't the ending they wanted to do. If it was shame on them it was a great injustice to an otherwise pretty good show.

Anyways a few other series are winding down and I will post my reviews as they do and hopefully some new fall shows will begin shortly to keep things interesting. Keep your eyes out for more updates.

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou Tou Dai Ni Maku Review

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou is back for season two it seems and it picks up pretty much where it left off. This first episode is absolutely thrilling. But as always good luck trying to figure out exactly whats going on. They like to throw stuff at you and not answer anything until the end of the story arch. So expect lots of action and mystery while they fight for their lives as it seems some organization is targeting them directly.

I don't want to put spoilers but prepare to to be shocked at the end of the first episode. It was rather of a crap episode two better not be late kind of moment. In short if your a fan of the first run of this series start watching (if your not already) this new run.

Also about some of the series I have been watching. Toward the Terra with jomy and his gang of Mu are kicking some stellar butt in the recent story arc. I will say this series has progressed really slow but it has certainly picked up steam to what seems to be one heck of a conclusion. If you haven't been watching this due to its slow pace hurry and get caught up or your gonna miss one heck of an action packed thrill ride of an ending. (unless the writers screw it up.)

Code-E is also starting to pick up some steam there are still a lot of questions about her mysterious E power and her fight to control it and deal with school life. As well as some added characters who seem to be very interested in her ability. while this is still in the single digit episodes it looks like it will begin picking up some speed now. Hopefully they will start progressing more on her and her power and broaden her ability to control it and use it. I am hopeful.

I am really getting into Kaze No Stigma with all the cool powers and fighting and with kazuma going on a rampage now I am excited to see what happens next.

If your not watching any of these I recommend checking out some of them you surely wont be disappointed.

School Days Revisit

School days-
This series is by far the most realistic love triangle kind of drama I could imagine. First he likes one girl but after she wont put out he switches to the other girl who has "supposedly" been helping him with his relationship with his current girlfriend. But in reality she wants him for herself. After some major drama she gets real intimate with him and he can longer stand to be away from her he just wants her body all the time. But they can't bring themselves to tell his current girlfriend whats happening. Meanwhile this timid girl has fallen madly for him but she is inexperienced and shy which drives her boyfriend away because "having a girlfriend like her is too much work."

In the last episode she catches them together on the roof doing the nasty and her world comes crumbling down.

This show is drama, drama and more drama... I cant say I like the main male character in this series he pisses me off to be honest. And he seems to have a short temper and abusive personality yet many a girl seems to be in love with him. Girls just seem drawn to assholes I guess. Anyways the female characters in this story are very hard to dislike they are very realistic in reactions and responses. And the art is just awesome. But if you hate drama with a capital "D" then stay away cause this show will touch on many nerves and have you yelling at your screen. (I admit I have a few times.) But like a car accident I just can't seem to keep my eyes away from this disaster that is their love life.

If you love drama and teen angst this check this series out just don't blame me if you want to hit your screen every time that boy shows up.

New Summer Anime Shows Update.

Well it has been a while since I last posted and a lot of new interesting summer shows have appeared.

Baccano!
This new series is quite interesting. It is not for the feint or lighthearted people this show is gore-rific. It has some of the most grisly and bloody scenes I have seen since tokko. People getting ripped into shreds with bullets. Heads being blown apart by shotguns and the best part is that due to the fact these people being ripped apart are some kind of immortals. We get the joy of watching the bloody mess reverse as if played backwards. All the blood every last drop flies back to its owner in an very fluid and beautiful animation sequence. And this show is beautiful even with all its gore the animation is top notch and high quality. The movements and expressions of the characters are fluid and realistic. (well as realistic as a superhuman immortal can be.) So far I am still trying to understand the story. But the gist of it is there is a crime family in say early 1930's new york made up of immortals who cannot die or be hurt. Some are normal others are plain creepy. I am not quite sure what the reporter guy and little girl are to the whole story but it is sure to be interesting. If you haven't checked it out you should.

Mushi-Uta
This series is turning out to be very interesting it had started very slow but has been picking up steam recently and is a great one to watch. The premise is about a creature the "mushi" who attach themselves to human beings and feed off their dreams. In return they grant their host incredible supernatural powers. The government has setup a special group who's job it is to hide the existence of the mushi by eliminating them or getting the hosts to join their forces. But there is another group who is fighting for freedom to use their powers as they want. When a mushi is eliminated the host becomes comatose or becomes a "sleeper." However if you lose your dreams the mushi will turn on its host and consume them.

The story takes place some years after events a long time back when a girl mushi is destroyed by a young government agent. Suddenly years later she wakes up. Which is unheard of and her mushi and powers are back. After escaping custody she runs into the boy from long ago but neither recognizes each other but they seem to have some kind of bond. As the story has progressed she is finding herself in the middle of the war between the government and rebels with friends on both sides what will she do. And what will the boy do if he finally realizes who the girl he has fallen for is the same one he sent away so long ago. Very interesting check it out if you haven't already. You wont be disappointed.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge Final Episode Released

So we say farewell to Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge one of the funniest new anime series from last season comes to end. Maybe. Not quite sure if its gonna be back for another season or not. The ending seems to leave the door wide open for more. I would welcome another season as this series was something new. It wasn't your typical love/romance/comedy show is was make a crazy scary girl a lady. Yes there are some hints at romance but it never really gets going. (another reason for a possible season 2.)

The story follow four beautiful men who live in an opulent house that a lady has set up for them on condition that they help her turn her niece into a lady. They agree with free rent in mind but if they fail their rent will increase. All is well and happy until she arrives. At first they so scared of her thinking she is some kind of evil creature and the shows pretty much follows that theme through most of the episodes occasionally she shows some growth. The guys also go through many trials because of their great beauty they must deal with crazy fan girls and even attempts at kidnapping. It is a great funny series that is a fresh break from some of the more stereo typical fare this season.

Should I keep posting?

I am interested in some feedback from my readers. I have been doing this now for the last few months with little if no feedback or comments. I am beginning to wonder if there is any value in it. There are a plethora of torrent listing sites already out there. I am thinking of simply putting my comments on series I like and episode reviews for new releases. Without the links.

But before I took that step I wanted to see how my readers feel. Would you like to see me keep posting links with new torrents or simply point you to the trackers and sites I use to gather my lists?

Favorite New Shows and Daily New Anime Releases

Well so far I am in love with some of the new series and some I am not. So far some of my favorite new ones are;
Zombie Loan - who doesn't love a show about zombies who kick butt. While very new and only 3 episodes out (3rd one came out today see below.) it looks to have a lot of potential.

Code-E - girl with electric personality that destroys all electronics when she gets nervous or excited. This one is brimming with potential I can't wait to see what happens next.

Nanatsuiro Drops - Magical girl goodness. This is THE stereotypical magical girl series. If you like your magical girl anime this is for you. Personally I watch it just to pass time and laugh at how "magical" this is.

Ookiku Furikabutte - baseball anime with lots of drama and humor. Looks very good and while releases are slow it is interesting to watch each week. I can't wait to see our beloved pitcher start kicking some serious booty.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensi - art style is unique but characters are fun and witty. I like this show as each episode sticks with the winning formula of wit and humor mixed with story. Character are just to fun to watch interacting.

Doujin Work - Who can't help but love a story about a sweet innocent girl suddenly decing to make her fortune making and selling hentai doujin. I mean its just hilarious how she try's so hard to hide her embarrassment while at the same time she can't stop herself because of the riches to be had. (never mind she has never drawn except for in school.) Just love this show so far can't wait for each release.

School Days - Romance and drama with a tinge of humor and love triangles galore. This has a lot of stereotypical anime love story hints but the characters are fun and interesting enough to make it all seem new. I do enjoy the story so far and look forward to new episodes.

Dennou Coil - love it, love it who can;t help but geek out at the premise behind the series. It is such a unique take on futuristic japan one that in my eyes seems more realistic than all these robot mecha worlds in other anime. The story is getting very interesting and developing rather nicely. Always one of my favorites when its released.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Review and New Daily Anime Releases

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is a kind of odd show. Not bad mind you just odd. The art style is not wonderful but the show is surprisingly fun to watch. The story is about a high school teach that is the king of negative thinking who on a morning while trying to hang himself is saved (but almost killed) by the most positive girl in the world.

She decides she is going to name him after suddenly deciding to name everything else and decides to call him pink manager. Of course she pays him each time she calls him it due to licensing rights. hehehe... I kid you not. Its kind of funny little series. With lots of weird drama and laughs. I definitely will keep watching this series just for its great wit and humor.

Potemayo Review and New Daily Anime Releases

Potemayo is a weird anime about some creepy little thing appearing in this kids fridge that he then brings to school. While everyone is trying to figure out what it is the kid doesn't even seem to be bothered by it. This thing he named Potemayo. Now Potemayo has a thing for this boy but so does a girl in his class. This girl is border line stalker crazy. And Potemayo knows it and fights with her when she tries to get close to him. Not sure who the audience is for this show while it has some great humor and giggles I would not call it my favorite show. Maybe a watch when there is nothing else out show as its not bad just not really engaging enough and kind of creepy weird.

Doujin Work Review and New Daily Anime Releases

Doujin Work is a pretty funny series about a girl who helps out her friend selling her doujin at a doujin convention. She is very unsure about the whole thing until she find out how much money can be made drawing and selling doujin suddenly she decides to become an artist and make her own (the power of money over morality) proclaiming it on the table at the convention as loud as possible. What can i say this series has a lot of sexual innuendo but it is hilarious as this girl is super shy when it comes to things like this. So she runs into all kinds of hilarious situations trying to avoid it or hide it. In episode 2 at one point she is stopped by a police who wants to know whats in the bag. So of course she immediately runs from the police as fast as she can. It leads to much laughing.

This is definitely not for kids but it sure is hilarious. I will keep this one on my watch list.

Code-E Review and New Daily Anime Releases

Code-E is a new series being subbed by formula subs so far with only the first episode out this looks very very interesting. The premise is a young girl who is "bad with machines" (understatement of the century) trying to have a normal life while avoiding all things electric.

It certainly made for a very interesting first episode with some great fun and a lot of potential. I am very interesting in how this one will flesh out as this first episode only gave a slight look at whats to come. Introducing our main character and her daily strive to just be normal.

Moetan Review and New Daily Anime Releases

Moetan is a lolitastic adventure created for all the loli perverts of japan. And it does this in a very obvious and humorous way. The story is about a wizard given a trial by sending him to earth where he meets our elementary school... ahem high school girl who just happens to look like an elementary student. And who hates it when people tell her she looks (and acts) like an elementary student. When the two meet it sets off some very loli scenes as this wizard is turned into a duck and seems to have one heck of a fetish for loli girls. During her magical transformation he can be seen drooling in Ecstasy and afterwards when she realizes how risque this outfit is he actively points out the loliness of this outfit. The girl then sets out to help people. Mostly she is trying to win over her crush a neighbor boy she desperately wants to walk to school with or just be close to him. And so she became our magical girl in order to get close to him.

Lets be honest this show does have a lot of loli type content with lots of sexual innuendo but it is also pretty darn funny. If your offended by the loli type of content then shy away from this. But if you don't mind it and enjoy a good laugh then you will like this show. With only one episode out it had me cracking up a few times. And it looks to keep up the pace. But this is definitely not for everyone.

School Days Review and Daily New Anime Releases

School Days is a romance series and it looks to be a very good one. With lots of love triangles and drama. I admit I am a sucker for a good romantic tale and this one looks to be a good one. With only the first episode out it had drama, humor and those nice "awwwwwww!" moments.

While I am not quite sure how things will progress from the first episode I was quite surprised by the ending. It looks like things will definitely get interesting. I wont spoil the experience for you buy putting spoilers. Maybe in the revisit I will so hurry and watch it.

But if you like a fun romantic story with some drama mixed in this looks to be a nice blend of all. The characters are very well defined even in one episode you come to feel for them. The quality is top notch as well. With only one episode out I already recommend watching this one. I am sure it will become a staple of my weekly anime fixes.

Sky Girls Review and New Daily Anime Releases

Sky girls looks to be a good mecha kind of movie but not really giant robots but a kind of exo-skeleton flying jet robot. Think Aliens power loader (where Ripley fights the queen alien at the end of the movie) with wings and can fly. Now the world after fighting off some kind of nano alien creatures many times and eventually using nukes to destroy them caused catastrophe for the earth and all but wiped out men of fighting age between 18 and 40... The army is now working on a new prototype for the war against the now destroyed (but maybe not really) aliens. The series starts by introducing us to some of the recruits the military is recruiting to be test pilots for this new weapon and their decisions to join or not.

This series is looking to be a good one I highly recommend this series to put on your watch list as I am sure this will offer a lot just based on the effort to create the characters in episode one. Lets hope they keep up the good work.

Umisho New Series Review and Daily New Anime Releases

Umisho is a great fun new comedy/ecchi show. With only one episode out this is just my first impression but it looks to be a fun one worth watching. (If your a fan of ecchi humor that is) The story is about a boy who manages the local school swimming team but he can't swim himself due to an incident as a kid where he was attacked by a mermaid. And a mysterious new girl who arrives from okinawa on a raft house which she lives on with her dad. The new girl is not a very modest or shy person and during her arrival the swim team meets her and she shows them her "skill" after which the swim team captain decides to recruit her. She seems to have amazing swimming skills but a style that is very unorthodox. But she is like a fish. and geez it seems that the boy in the story and this new girl recognize each other from somewhere but can't seem to remember. (I wonder?)

Anyways it has a lot of partial nudity with no actual full on nudity but lots of partial breast shots. And plenty of girls in swimming suits and "boing" effects to go around. So if your a warm blooded male this series will definitely get the blood pumping. (live action spin off is most welcome.)

Good-bye Shining Tears X Wind and Daily New Releases

Shining Tears X Wind has been a good friend along its journey. While not an outstanding anime with great character development and story continuity, it has been a fun action/harem type anime. With lots of strange love triangles and sudden changes in character. (One day our hero is ready to beat up everyone the next day he is trying to stop everyone from fighting.)
All of this started out because of some zero guy with one white and one black wing who has multiple personalities after being devoured by some evil force and killing his companions. But he reclaims himself and resurrects his fallen allies with his new found powers. But he now needs a new hero to stop the evil in the world and so he decides to enlist our hero as his proxy in the war. Of course I am summarizing quite a bit as the story is not that straightforward or clear but that's the basic gist of it.

Our heroes in this new world are called soul blader's because of their ability to draw out the hearts of others represented by a sword with unique powers. These swords have great abilities in fighting the darkness that is engulfing this world. So after many episodes of conflict and strange romantic interludes with elves, dwarfs and beast people we come to an end with a war against a elf gone dark-elf, at the loss of his sister he is driven mad and decides he will wipe clean this world and everyone in it. Our heroes must stop him so they set out on their final battle to save the world.

My thoughts and Today's New Anime Releases

As you may have guessed I am a big fan of anime and spend lots of time everyday scouring the net for the latest releases and subbing groups. After being a long time subbed watcher I sat down to watch some of the new anime-monday on sci-fi channel and almost lost my lunch at the dubbing done to some of my favorite series. The complete lack of actual talent used when dubbing is the single biggest reason for a lack of larger anime support. Anyone watching these anime would have to think the series quality is horrible with voice acting so drab and shallow. When will anime licensees realize that they have to get quality voice acting to really win over a larger audience base. As I sat and watched this I was thinking how I wished there was a subbed version playing instead I would rather be forced to read then listening to boring voice overs. Please someone wake up the American licensing companies and get them to find quality talent.

That's my anime rant for the day.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai Review and Daily New Anime Releases

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai is the second season from the original story that take place some years in the future as they try to figure out what really happened in the old town. While only 1 episode is out if this follows the last season expect some creepy stories that will bend your mind and test your ability to accept the strange and unusual realities of this show.

It is definitely not for the faint of heart in the last season you were forced to watch children murdering and brutalizing each other. So far I have no idea what to expect from this new installment but expect lots of horror and gore.

Zombie-Loan Review and New Daily Anime Releases

Zombie-Loan is a new series that looks to be a good one. While only one episode is out so far the show appears to be about a girl who can see rings around people's neck that mean they are about to die. Her existence seems to be a sad one with friends who treat her like dirt a family that raises her out of obligation as her parents are dead but hate the fact she costs money to raise. Everyone treats her like dirt. One day while buying lunch for her "friends" she bumps into these two guys and saw they have black rings around their necks. That night she sees them in the graveyard on the way home from school as they take their hands off. and then kill some monster dog. They find out she can see the rings and decide she may be useful to them in hunting zombie's. And so the story begins.

It a fun tale so far with action, fantasy and zombies... and who doesn't love a good zombie story. Anyways only 1 episode out today but I will keep you up to date.

Nanatsuiro Drops and Daily New Anime Releases

Happy 4th!! and now on to review Nanatsuiro Drops is a standard magical girl kind of show with some distressed cute creature needing the help of some young naive girl to rescue him. This show is no different at all. If those kind of shows are your cup of tea then you will love this. However if you not into that type of stuff stay away as this is as stereo-typical as they get.

I will provide a more detailed review later as the series progresses but as of the first episode I don't know enough about whats going on to really say whats new or different about this series.

Goodbye Nodame Cantabile and New Daily Anime Releases

Nodame Cantabile has come to an end with episode 23. This series has been a fun one to follow with some great characters you can't help but fall in love with. The story has had a lot of twists and turns and I think ends on a perfect note. (pun intended.) The series followed a music student who is gifted in all things music but his dream is to a conductor of an orchestra. As a child he was mentored by one of the greats but due to a flying accident he is terrified to fly and has become stranded in Japan. Unable to explore the world of music by going to Europe to study with the greats he finds a way to expand his world in japan with the help of an odd ball girl who is head over heels for him. She makes his world crazy and interesting and no matter what he just can't leave this woman alone. Her along with other crazy people help him to reach his dream.

Even if your not a classical music fan this series is great fun to watch the story and characters are very well defined and interesting. You will watch every episode waiting to see what happens next.

Zero no Tsukaima: Futatsuki no Kishi and Todays New Anime Releases

Zero no Tsukaima: Futatsuki no Kishi the second season of Zero no Tsukaima will begin airing on July 8th, it looks like a few groups will pick this one up as it was fairly popular during it first season. I am looking forward to it also there was a lot of potential in the series and the characters and story were very well done. If your not familiar with the first season I will give you a little info. There is a girl who lives in a magical dimension who is called Zero because her talent for magic is zero. Everything she tries fails miserably, she is of noble blood and very self centered. One day at magic school they are summoning their familiars who will become their partners. But when its zero's turn she summons a poor fellow from earth and bind a contract with him. Suddenly this guy is thrust into a world of magic where he is bound by contract to his master. She treats him like a pet and he treats her like a snobby princess. lots of fun happens as we explore their magic together and mysterious powers.
