Soul Eater, is a new series starting and all I can say is WOW!!!... it is an irreverent show about a group of shinigami and their weapons. They stop demons from eating human souls because if enough of them are eaten the demon will become the Kishin who will end the world. The Shinigami are student at the shinigami university which trains up and coming shinigami to become true shinigame with a death scythe and become very powerful. To do so they must collect souls of these demon and the scythe eats them and gains power once they have collected 99 demon souls and 1 witches soul they are promoted.
The show starts off with meeting Maka, and Soul her scythe collecting their 99th soul and then going after a witch. Now this show is absolutely hilarious but at the same time has some of the best action sequences I have ever seen. That girl and her scythe are awesome... they tear it up and she never even breaks a sweat. The action sequences look like well choreographed hong kong fighting scenes. She wield that scythe will impeccable skill and grace. The witch turns out to be some trouble for the two but she is hilarious using her feminine whiles to taunt and tease the scythe who when not working he is a just a regular "cool" guy. Especially since he jumped through the witches window right into her bathtub with her and all her "boing boing" glory.
The comedy is great, the action is superb and plot and story seem very interesting with a lot of potential. I have high hopes for this one.

Series End's for a few shows! Daily New Anime Series
Well Rental Magica and a few other shows have come to an end. Its always bitter sweet to see your favorite new shows end after a measly 12 episodes but on the other hand your excited for whats coming next and praying for a second season.
The ending for a few of the recent series, felt a little empty. Not really resolving anything. Only creating more questions. It's almost as if they are setting up a second season. But most of them don't seem to have anything slated, so if they never do get picked up we are left feeling unsatisfied.
Rental Magica is a prime example they have all this mystery and questions where is his dad what other secrets are there with astral, and various other things. So whats gonna happen. I have heard nothing of a second season but maybe I missed it somewhere or I'm not looking hard enough.
Anyways, Here is saying good bye to what was and hello to what will be.
Daily listing are hard to keep up with sometimes, so dont get too upset when I slack off cause of RL stuff. Being a father and husband limits my time for daily blogs. But I will try to do my best and be consistent. So please continue to visit and check my daily listings and thoughts on current anime and new stuff coming soon.

Rental Magica Review and New Daily Anime Releases
Rental Magica is pretty good better than when I first reviewed it. The characters are flashing out well and the story is starting to take shape. The son of a powerful magic group that rent out their abilities to clean up and fight magic pollution and paranormal incidents has suddenly been thrust into the manager of the group when his father disappears. Although he has no real power or knows anything about magic he has a special eye which grants him the ability to see magic and read it. However his eye has become possessed by a demon and is tearing his body apart from the inside. He is slowly learning to use the eyes power for his own ends and to help his team instead of being a burden to them. His cast is made up of a ghost that they rescue a Celtic mage and a few traditional monks.
There are some great love triangles and sub plots in the series that are very interesting and seem to be maturing rather nicely. Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro Review and New Dailyn Anime Releases
Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro is a series about a demon who eats mysteries, after eating all the mysteries from the demon world he comes to earth to solve and digest earth's mysteries and he enlists the help of a young girl who's own mystery is haunting her. Her father was brutally murdered in his own house in a locked room. The police claimed it as suicide but the truth is waiting to be found.
The show is great mystery novel fun, try to solve it before he does. Although the writers tend to give too much away too soon. (the show is 30 minutes after all.) But it is enjoyable how he sets them up and unravels things. The idea of a high school detective who seeks out mysteries and solves them and nobody even bats an eye at this cracks me up. It so outlandish and over the top. The criminal turning into some kind of crazed monster once cornered is icing on the cake as if its their true nature. I think the characters are fun to watch and the slap stick humor is pretty darn good and comedic timing is excellent. Over all its a fun show to watch just don't expect a lot of suspense and drama. It's more comedy than horror mystery. But it does get gruesome I mean most mysteries are about murders some more horrific than others but generally the show tends to keep the mood light.
The idea of a demon who eats mysteries is quite unique and interesting and that's pretty much what got me watching in the first place now I stay for the comedy and humor. he is just to funny how he toys with the humans. Good fun to be had for everyone.

Hatenkou Yugi Review and New Daily Anime Releases
Hatenkou Yugi is a pretty interesting show with some pretty good dramatic undertones without being massively preachy or taking itself too serious. Our hero this time around is a woman who is cast out and told to travel the world. She find herself some travel companions promising them they would never be bored. As they travel they look for work doing odd jobs town to town saving the day using her magical abilities and her companions brute strength and talents. All of them hoping one day to find answers to the questions that have brought them here in their lives.
This is a pretty interesting show but i often times feel like they rush episodes, like the story is big enough for a 3 parter but they rush through it to get the whole thing done in 30 minutes. Which takes what would have been an exciting show and turn it into a fast food version. While it doesn't taste bad its not exactly healthy for you. The characters are interesting and mysterious as you try to figure out their past. The over all story is about revenge and betrayal, so dont expect anything too light and most of the story subject matter is kind of disturbing at least a few have been the kind that you say. "oh my god they actually went there." People die in this show and not nicely either in one show a kid is taken and chopped up for parts of some kind of new Frankenstein retelling. The show ends with the distraught mother wandering around still trying to find him. For anyone with kids thats just gut wrenching.

Rosario + Vampire Review and Daily New Anime Releases
Rosario + Vampire, what a great fan-service show. Lots of gratuitous pant shots and breast "boing's" this show was written as a fan-service show it seems. For harem lovers this is a dream come true. A regular boy who failed getting into any high school is suddenly sent to a new school after his dad found a dropped application form. On his way to school that day he encounters a girl and they get to know each other as she shares her story about past school experiences and they become best friends on the spot. Sealed with a "kiss" on the neck.
Later during class he suddenly realizes as the teacher explains that the school is for monsters to learn how to assimilate into the human world that he is the only human on campus and everyone around him is a monster. Even his new found friend.
As he tries to make a run for it and leave his new friend tries to stop him since she will be lonely but they are attacked and he is saved by the girl after unsealing her powers by removing the rosario around her neck that seals her powers. She turns out to be a super powerful vampire chick. But heck what guy can resist the charms of a bi-polar vampire chick who is fawning over them. Needless to say other monster chicks start falling in love with our hero as he decides to stick it out. Lots of fun an humor saturates the show as each episode introduces us to new crazy characters and more love rivalry and mystery about how this human ended up coming here in the first place.
If you enjoy the harem shows or plain ecchi humor this is for you. While not exactly original it is fun and entertaining and heck whats not to like about hot succbus, loli witches and stalker ice queens. With a vampire thrown on top. C'mon you know you like it. Just admit it and enjoy the show.

Spice and Wolf Review - New Daily Anime Releases
Spice and Wolf - if it wasn't such a nicely animated series I would almost expect it to be some kind of educational program about economics. Every episode they go into how economics works and how to use it to get filthy rich. The dialog about this is often nicely placed and relevant its just way to over the top. And distracting from the story. I mean give me a break. The guys is traveling with a wolf god who can take on (cute and fox girl fetish) human form with dog ears and bushy tail. She is the "great and wise Horo" who wishes to travel north to try to find her comrades after the people of the world have begun to no longer worship and rely upon her for harvests. She hooks up with a traveling merchant who just can't help but constantly talk about trade and economics. If not for Horo this show would be absolutely boring. She often lends a light-hearted-ness to the dialog and keep things moving.
I would recommend it for economics students as a interesting way to learn economics as for anime fans it may often be boring and wordy but the characters are developed well and you get a general sense of the relationship blossoming. It interesting at times and boring at others. But who can't help but love the fox ears and tail. If only she was a little more buxom and less loli she would be perfect. (What can I say I dig the ears and tail.)

I would recommend it for economics students as a interesting way to learn economics as for anime fans it may often be boring and wordy but the characters are developed well and you get a general sense of the relationship blossoming. Persona - Trinity Soul Review and New Daily Anime Releases
Persona, is a fairly new series and I am enjoying it a lot. At its current pace I am guessing it has a fairly long run. The story is about two young boys returning home to live with their older brother who is police chief. Only to find he doesn't want them there and they soon discover why. They discover they have the ability to call out these monsters from inside them. And use them to fight an organization who is trying to steal them from people resulting in some horrible consequences.
It's got good characters and story and I am hoping the pace picks up a bit cause some episodes seem to drag on needlessly. But if other than that it has nice action, characters and story is seemingly intense with some "oh crap!" moments.

Ayakashi Review and New Daily Anime Releases
Ayakashi - This new series is almost identical in concept to Persona which is also out right now. The idea is a group of people have the power to control ayakashi. But in so using them you must pay a price. Usually its through your body. Losing your eyesight, ability to walk or your mind. One boy who lost the love of his life a while ago has a certain power that a group wants to control with the hope of stopping the physical degradation of the host or at least thats what they say.
So far its a very interesting story but it seems to feel rushed and random at times. I often feel like I am missing some part of the plot almost like I missed an episode or two of the story. I am not sure if this is by design or if this is just a crappy writer. But it often leaves me scratching my head. The idea is cool and the ayakashi are awesome and interesting. It is often a very graphic story with lost of death and dismemberment so not for the feint of heart.
I just can't get excited for the main hero. He just seems like an ass to me that I can't just love and root for. He often just randomly gets pissed and suddenly he has super powers from his ayakashi. It seems the ayakashi has influence over his personality and this may be why he drives me nuts. But they could have handled it differently so you have a better idea of who he is VS. his ayakashi's influence. Even with these problems I still enjoy watching the show and hope that things get tied together in the end. Fingers crossed.

Ghost Dog Goodness and New Daily Anime Releases
I was just sitting here thinking today how cool this series is. It has some great character development. Deep mystery and exciting action and thrills. And it does it all without going over the top and crazy. It's almost believable.
Where I live there are not many anime fans so I often have nobody to chat with about my new favorite series. So I created this blog to help me reach out to the community and find friends. I download and watch anime pretty much all day everyday. I work from home so I have the luxury of being able to do that. I am pretty excited about this seasons shows rosario + vampire is becoming one of my fav's. It's silly but it is fun. The comedy of it makes me laugh quite a bit so i recommend it. But please note it is a harem anime so lots of ecchi stuff. As a guy I don't mind a healthy dose of fan service every now and then and this show delivers.
I have actually started collecting figures or I should say my wife bought me some. They are kind of cute little statues. I wonder why they don't make more action figure type ones that are posable. I think that would be cool. But the details on them are amazing.

Where I live there are not many anime fans so I often have nobody to chat with about my new favorite series. So I created this blog to help me reach out to the community and find friends. I download and watch anime pretty much all day everyday. I work from home so I have the luxury of being able to do that. I am pretty excited about this seasons shows rosario + vampire is becoming one of my fav's. It's silly but it is fun. The comedy of it makes me laugh quite a bit so i recommend it. But please note it is a harem anime so lots of ecchi stuff. As a guy I don't mind a healthy dose of fan service every now and then and this show delivers.
I have actually started collecting figures or I should say my wife bought me some. They are kind of cute little statues. I wonder why they don't make more action figure type ones that are posable. I think that would be cool. But the details on them are amazing.

Sketch Book Full Colors Review
I must say as I am catching up on my anime this show has been one of the most boring and un-interesting series I have ever seen. It is slow, unimpressive and simply pointless. The main character (if you can call her that.) is boring and unimaginative. She wander around on her mission to find stuff to draw. The other characters in the story are just a collection of the many stereotypes that you find in most anime. There are a few side stories but mostly its just about her interaction and observation of the world, and people around her.
Not very interesting at all.
If this was one you wanted to check out don't waste your time pass this one up. Unless you need something to put you to sleep.

Whew! Been super busy with RL stuff
Well its been a while since I was able to post due to real life stuff going on. But I should be back in full force come the new year as things settle down. I have been traveling a lot so I am very behind on my anime watching.
A lot of the shows are promising and a guilty pleasure I have is Shugo Chara. It a fun story about a girl who has many personalities that she shows to different people and worries about her real self as she is wondering she suddenly finds she has 3 eggs. Which is actually very funny since she thinks she laid them initially. The show has many fun moments like that where you just have to giggle. Anyways these eggs hatch to reveal the Charas which are guardians of her true self. They give her abilities and powers to fight the X eggs and to find the embryo that is said to grant your wish.
Its a really guilty pleasure but I just love the show it really is fun to watch.
Anyways Look for the new year when I will get back to daily updates with new releases and links.

Today's Listing of New Daily Anime Releases
Today's listing of new releases is rather small which is typical of Friday releases.
I have been watching some of the newer shows with dragonaut - the resonance - quickly becoming on of my favorite new shows. The premise of being able to ride a dragon and fight with it is a great childhood dream and its awesome to see that represented in anime form. The production quality is great the action is fast paced and exciting and so far the characters are genuine and interesting.
The group infinite-zero has been subbing this along with favorites shinsen-subs however infinite seems to be getting the episodes out quicker and so far has top notch quality. But if your a fan of shinsen then you might as well wait since they don't seem to be to far behind.
If your not watching this I recommend picking it up.

One of the more controversial new comedies out "Kodomo no Jikan" is a very loli series with some great humor. But be warned this show has a lot of sexual overtones and blatant sexual content some of which gets censored its so blatant. This show pokes fun at the loli community while also giving them lots of fan service. So you have been warned if you despise loli stay away. If you don't really care and just enjoy a good laugh and giggle at some poor teachers expense you will get a kick out of how these girls taunt and tease their new teacher.

Daily anime listings maybe returning
With this new season of anime starting... I am thinking of starting listing the new series links as they are made available.
It's not a ton of work to do this. I usually try to keep it current through out the day, but with so many other sites out there where you can also get these I am wondering if anyone actually wants them.
I personally use;
Anime-source.com
But I also have bookmarks for all the major fansub groups and check their site daily for release info. But Anime-source seems to be pretty good about getting the new releases listed quickly and effectively. Although not always... They are probably the best so far.
So if you want me to bring them back let me know.
Also I usually don't post pictures of the series I am reviewing but I know some people have asked for me to start listing pictures. This takes a little more time and effort since I am more of a csual blogger but lets be honest seeing a picture of a series that looks interesting sometimes is more valuable than in determining if you think a show is worth watching... So if a show looks interesting enough I will definitely start posting pictures.

Great new season starting
Well we are starting to see some great new series appearing. And so far I haven't seen any that look boring or blah... I have watched;
Myself; Yourself
Sana Hikada returns to his hometown after 5 years away living in Tokyo. Although there are some changes to the town, most has remained the same. On a detour to his apartments, he notices a girl in a shrine maiden outfit watching him when he visits the shrine. He finds out, the next day at school, that this girl is actually Nanaka Yatsushiro, his old childhood friend whom he gave a bracelet to before he left, that she still wears, even to this day.
Kaiji
A down on his luck loser who loves to gamble and runs a life of misery is given a chance by the mafia to pay off all his debts by boarding a mysterious cruise ship where he must win a series of gambling contests with lots at stake and many other losers trying to win their freedom can he climb to the top and beat them all for the prize and fortune.
Dragonaut - The Resonance
In order to avoid Earth's impending destruction from an asteroid, the International Solarsystem Development Agency (ISDA) works on the "D-Project", and creates the "Dragonaut" after finding a dragon egg under the ocean. However, they soon find out that the asteroid is not their only threat, as powerful dragon-like creatures appear on Earth. After witnessing a murder by one of the creatures, Jin Kamishina gets involved in the mysteries of the dragons and becomes the chosen pilot of the Dragonaut. Helping him on his journey is Toa, a mysterious girl who saves him from falling to his death after the creature attacks him. As they get deeper into the mysteries of the dragons, they encounter new friends and enemies, and also begin to develop a closer relationship.
Da Capo II
The protagonist, Yoshiyuki Sakurai, was born when Sakura Yoshino, weary of being alone for so long, wished upon a prototype artificial wish-granting magical sakura tree for a family. Similar to its predecessor, the story takes place on the same island, Hatsunejima, in Japan, and set fifty-three years after the original anime. The Asakura sisters are the granddaughters of Junichi Asakura and Nemu Asakura from the first Da Capo. Sakura Yoshino and Junichi are the only returning characters, and Nemu is the only other character to be mentioned by name.
Clannad
Tomoya Okazaki is a third year student labelled as a delinquent. Everything seems to be unchanging for his school life until he meets Nagisa, and Tomoya finds that his life is about to change. He starts to have dreams of a bleak world and meets a girl who has the ability to fuse junk together in order to create things, and doing so, creates a body out of junk for him. He is then reborn into this empty world and follows around the girl, the only two existences who are "alive."
You're Under Arrest: Full Throttle
I team of traffic police women face danger and obstacles in a futuristic Tokyo where they must uphold the rules of the road and find trouble wherever it may be. The two main characters are a pair of women partners one a butch muscle woman who loves to fight the other a savvy, smart, by the book (sorta) woman.
Blue Drop
Not quite sure what this one is about. The first episode is kind of vague but it looks to have aliens sci-fi and super powerful ships. The main character is a whiny little girl who lost everything and is sent to live at a school for nobles by her grandma who is no longer able to care for her. She meets some strange people including a girl who upon first meeting her tries to strangle her after some strange power awakens.

no need to explain if you have seen the first series this one picks up right where the last one left off I mean literally right off. They start the new semester after the break and already find themselves battling new enemies and some old ones as well.
Night Wizard
A strange tale about a world where demons are about to invade earth and the only stopping them is a band of people who can use magical weapons as no modern weaponry has any effect on them. Part sci-fi part fantasy. Our hero's include a bad ass giant sword wielding guy who just wants to go to school. A unique shrine maiden who ropes in the new girl who transferred in to join her club only to find out she too has a magical weapon. But was unaware of it until one night her powers awaken before her 17th birthday.
Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun
Shungo is a normal high school student living in a huge house. One day, his sister Ryoko sends Mayu and Mikihiro Tsukimura, two siblings, to live with him to help Mayu overcome her problem. Mayu's problem: she is a succubus who absorbs the power of men (however our hero does not seem to be affected by this.) but she is androphobic (Afraid of men) , and Ryoko wants Shungo to help her overcome. How By making Mayu and Shungo share the same room, bed, and even take baths together. To make things even worse, Reika Hojo, the student-council chair, ends up becoming their maid.
Rental Magica
Due to his father's disappearance, Itsuki Iba has to take over the family business: a magician dispatch service. Their family basically employs countless magicians and other supernatural beings in order to send them out to help those who need magical assistance. As a leader, Itsuki now has to be tough, commanding, and reliable, but there's one problem, he's a coward. Also, in order to run a successful business, he has to connect with his employees, which is more difficult than it seems due to his personality. But not only does he have to deal with his own employees, he also has to deal with those who threaten the family business.
Mokke
Shizuru is a high school student who is able to see ghosts while her younger sister, Mizuki, is haunted by these apparitions. Frustrated by their abilities, their parents decided to entrust the sisters into the care of their grandparents who live in the countryside. As they adapt to life in the countryside, Shizuru and Mizuki begin to learn about the importance of coexisting nature with these apparitions.
I will review these series in more detail as more of the episodes are released as well as keep you updated on any other new series that come out.

School days final episode... WTF!!!
Ok, I usually don't put spoilers in but this show just has to be talked about. So if you haven't been watching and read my other post makoto is a real prick who sleeps around with anything that moves and for some strange reason the girls are a bunch of sluts who will put out for anyone.
Now the series goes something like this... he likes a girl on a train, and the girl who sits next to him in class helps him get the girl from the train... he then cheats on the first girl with the girl sitting next to him. But wont tell the first girl, then another girl wants him and another then three at once. Of course they all end up getting jealous and crazy... and well... He gets what he deserves... but damn if it isn't the most twisted ending in the history of anime. My god I almost blew chunks its so completely twisted.
If you can stomach the rest of this series just for the ending do it... Its twisted enough it just has to be seen. I take no credit for messing you up for the rest of your life and in no way bear responsibility for that nagging sickness in your stomach at the ending credits. But you have to see this to understand what I am talking about.
If your are weak and don't like twisted stuff never ever watch this series and the final episode. never ever it is seriously that messed up.

Claymore . 26 Final Released
Claymore is by far the best series I have watched in a long long time. It had great animation quality but that's only the icing on this cake. The plot line and writing are top notch. They make you really love the characters. You feel every agonizing cut and bruise. It hard to watch characters you love be beaten and this series is not one to shy away from killing off one of your beloved characters right after making you fall in love with them. While the gore is extensive and not for the feint of heart it adds realism and shock to scenes that are already tense and exciting. I found myself shouting at the show yelling "c'mon get it. Don't give up!" and "Nooooooo! Why the hell did she have to die!" I was emotionally invested in every episode and each character.
This show goes in the #1 spot for anime of the year for this viewer/reviewer. It looks as though they ended it with the possibility for a second season. I will pray the anime gods for this shows return. There are many things left undone and more to explore. My hope is that this show has just gotten started and will continue for a long run.
Now I just need to find something else to sate my appetite until next season... Lets hope the new batch coming out has some hidden gems like this series.

Toward the Terra and Kaze No Stigma final episodes released
Well it is time to say good bye to Toward the Terra it was a long and bumpy road but its finally over. While the ending stays with the theme of the series. It is sort of disappointing. If your watching this hoping for a fairy tale happy ending stop now your better off not watching it. Without spoiling I can say no more.
But needless to say this show has been an interesting one to follow with weird mysteries and plot lines that left many questions unanswered. Over all a quality show and very entertaining. But in my opinion the ending just didn't do it justice.
Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your like or dislike of the series) it doesn't look like there will be a sequel for this series but... you never know.
As for Kaze No Stigma it was a great ending with as much flare and dramatics and fun as you come to expect from the series and it looks to nicely setup a second run of the series. (fingers crossed.) This show had many great elements with rivalries, love triangles and comedy galore. It could make you laugh and then later cry. There were many touching moments through out this run and I am looking forward to the next season. There are lots of places this series can take us and I plan to stay on this ride until the end.

Devil May Cry and Zombie Loan final episodes released
Well a few more series have come to an end. Zombie Loan which had the potential for being a promising series seemed to end quite abruptly. I am hoping its plans to return since it left a lot of unanswered questions but I will keep my ear the ground. All in all the final few episodes were rather nice and would have hoped it continued along those tracks if it returns.
Devil May Cry ended also which intrigued me as well since the series never really got much into any kind of plot it was like a bunch of filler episodes then a two episode arc for the finale. Kind of disappointed in how it ended very lack luster and kind of lame. But the art work for the series was absolutely gorgeous and I would expect no less from a franchise like that. Not sure if it will come back for another season. I doubt it but you never know.
A couple of other series are winding down El Cazadore de la bruja is winding down and has been a fun series to watch if just a little odd. I hope they end it nicely. There is a lot of potential and the characters are very well defined so they should have no excuse for a crappy unemotional ending.
Fan subbing has slowed down a bit over the summer with many subbers I am sure taking long vacations. Some of the bigger subbing groups have maintained a steady pace with releases while others have been hung up for months I am looking forward to start seeing some of those groups catch up and finish off some of the summer series.
If you haven't been watching Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! you should start. The series had some great story arc's recently after a bevy of filler crap we now start to get into the story of the battle for the position of successor. It is great! I can't wait for each release and Shinsen-subs has been cranking them out pretty quickly recently so get caught up if you haven't been watching I am sure you wont be disappointed.

Reideen goes out with a pop instead of a bang
The final episode of Reideen has aired and been subbed. But I must say it was very anti-climactic. I watched it and thought well thats it? Thats all? I was very very disappointed with the ending. It felt rushed and forced not sure what happened on the publishers end but I hope that wasn't the ending they wanted to do. If it was shame on them it was a great injustice to an otherwise pretty good show.
Anyways a few other series are winding down and I will post my reviews as they do and hopefully some new fall shows will begin shortly to keep things interesting. Keep your eyes out for more updates.
