My Favorites this season & Daily New Anime Releases

Well so far this season I have quite a few favorites. Lovely Complex has to be one of my all time favorite romantic comedies. I have not laughed that hard at one of these in a long time. Read my review if you want to know more about it. It is just the best comedy so far. Second place is Seto no Hanayome about a shotgun wedding with a mobster boss's daughter... who happens to be a mermaid. Great fun and lots of laughs also. For mecha I would say Kishin Taisen Gigantic Formula is my number 1 right now. I like the characters and story so far it seems to be developing rather nicely. My second fav would be Heroic Age... although I am not sure if it can be classified as mecha considering he is really a giant alien trapped inside a kids body... but I love watching it. I give Honorable mentions to Reideen, it is interesting but I sometimes am bothered by how lame the main hero is... he has almost no personality but the show is still quite good.

I watch just about everything but just can't bring myself to watch some of the more yayoi series out... just creeps me out watching guy angels fighting over each other... yuck! (talking about new series Saint Beast: Kouin Jojishi Tenshitan.)

All in all I love just about everything out right now and watch them religiously. I am hoping for more new shows coming soon and it looks like we may get the return of some great ones from last season. Stay tuned for more info.

Lucky Star and New Daily Anime Releases

Lucky Star is a fun show with lots of quick wit humor that tends to poke fun at itself quite a bit. It's not so much a story but rather more like a comic strip. Its about 4 girls one who is an anime otaku, who loves her video games and anime like nobodies business and a pair of twins one smart and self righteous the other timid and dumb. with a stereo typical rich/shy onee-san type. The shows are about their days spent talking about various things and making fun of everything. the otaku continually poking fun at the elder smart twin as they constantly have a battle of wits. Often the twin losing. They talk about daily high school girl life and Japanese student life.

As I stated earlier its more like a show made up of lots of comic strip as it sets up punch lines through out the show and then delivers on them with great fun.

Keitai Shoujo and New Daily Anime Releases

This series is made up of shorts. Maybe 5 minutes total each episode but it is a rather fun series. The story is about a boy who has a kind of odd relationship with a girl only through texting. But when his friend starts to like her he starts to back off and encourage them. All the while other girls have taken an interest in him and try to get his attention. The series revolves around this texting in short episodes with all these relationships.

Its a quick anime fix and can be fun. But I wish it was longer I am getting hooked.

Oh! Edo Rocket and New Daily Anime Releases

This new series being subbed by Shinsen-subs is a fun series about historical japan in which they are going through "reforms" and all kinds of luxuries are banned including fireworks. But a boy who absolutely loves fireworks doesn't care he thinks the reforms wont last so he just has to perfect his art. All while some kind of mysterious creatures are fighting each other while being pursued by some kind of elite ninjas. The boys fireworks go off saving the creature and distracting the ninjas as they were about to capture it.

the creature turns out to be a beautiful girl who is taken back by the fireworks and seeks the boy out to build her a firework that will reach to the moon.

art style is fun and so are the characters. Its a little hard to follow at first things jump around a lot but once it gets going its pretty easy to stick with. I will definitely keep watching this series.

Sola Anime Series and New Daily Anime Releases

Sola, is another guilty pleasure of mine. It is an odd tale of a boy obsessed with the sky. All he wants to do all day is take pictures of all the different kind of sky. One night while preparing to photograph the morning sky he meets a strange girl in the park beating up a vending machine for her drink. As he helps her out she disappears. The next day while visiting his sister who is in the hospital sick he looks out the window to see a sky he just has to capture. His sister tries to stop him but he just has to. So he leaves his sister to run to the old church to get his shot. There he encounters his mystery girl being attacked by some man. He decides to try to recue her and bring her home to his house. There she tells him she is some kind of being that cannot go into the sunlight. Then and there he vows that one day he will show her the sky.

This is a fun light hearted show with some mystery as we try to understand what she is how she became that way and why this man is chasing her. All while our hero starts to fall in love with her and her him.

It not a show for everyone but if you just love anime its a good one to watch. Here are the links.

Daily New Anime Releases

Only a few new anime releases today.

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann . 9 - If you have been reading my blog you know I have nothing but rave review of this series. Without spoiling the last episode did something I have not seen an anime do in a very long time. If you watch it you will know what I mean.

Kaze no Stigma . 7 - This one is great fun and has some new twists on the old anime classic of discovering ones power inside. The characters are stero typical but even so I love it.
